Isn’t it fun to discover something new? In particular when it’s a brand with quality products AND they give back? MAKE Beauty is one of these rare brands so I was excited to have the opportunity to try a couple of their products.
MAKE sent me their Matte Finish Eyeshadow in Alabaster and their Silk Cream Lipstick in the shade of Taffy (there’s a discount for my readers…keep reading). Their products are made so they can be worn as sheer and soft, or layered for more intensity. I found this to be true of both the eyeshadow and lipstick. There are no beauty rules at MAKE and they want to us to be inspired by our own imagination.
The Matte Finish Eyeshadow is a buttery soft powder that lasts all day and doesn’t crease. The eyeshadows have beautiful shades that range from neutral to bold. They can be applied wet for a bolder color or dry. Alabaster can be worn under the brows to highlight and also looks very nice as an all over color. The photo below shows how the eyeshadow can be worn bold (left) or light (on the right). I had to retake this photo so the lighting is different from above, which is a better indication of the color.
Silk Cream is a good name for this hydrating and semi-matte lipstick. Included in the ingredients are antioxidant vitamins, Aloe and chamomile extracts, and rosehip, soybean and safflower oils. The color lasts a couple of hours and doesn’t feather. Taffy is a shade darker than my natural lip color and adds a flattering pink. On their website it’s described as a medium pink with purple undertones.
MAKE is made in NYC, Paraben-free, never tested on animals and hypoallergenic. They donate 10% of sales to the We See Beauty Foundation, supporting women-led, worker-owned cooperative businesses across the Americas.
