Feeling Pretty Doesn’t Come From A Bottle

I was recently inspired by a blog post, I’m Climbing 103 Flights of Stairs…by Choice! by Megan Elizabeth (it’s an excellent read – please check it out).  But I wasn’t inspired in the way you would think.  I’m amazed at her goal and determination, because just ten flights would be a bit much for me right now!  For me there was more to this story than climbing an enormous amount of stairs.  Megan shares her story of what she went through before she decided to challenge herself to the 103 Flights of Stairs, and I was able to relate to her story.

It’s not difficult to discern that this is a beauty blog.  After all our header does say “All Things Makeup and Skin!”.  Megan’s blog article was a good reminder for me that beauty doesn’t come from lotions and potions.  They enhance beauty, but if I’m unhappy with myself on some level then products are more like a mask (although they can help us feel better temporarily while getting through!).  Whatever you’re struggling with – whether it’s big or something minor, emotional, physical, spiritual, etc. – take care of it.  The way you take care of it is going to be different from someone else.  Remember that it’s okay to say no if you have too much on your plate.  This is part of taking care of you.

Beauty starts from the inside.  When we truly feel good on the inside it reflects not only in our appearance (think naturally glowing skin), but also our eyes, smile, spirit and attitude.
